Garage Report - From Inside The House

11 th February 2009

Gosh, when someone told me its about time I got my act together and wrote another report since my last one was in November, I thought surely it hasn’t been that long – but yip it certainly has.

The New Zealand Superstock Champs have been and gone, and what a fantastic result for us South Islanders. Also I was stoked that I was able to take Lincoln to this meeting in his pram so we all got to see this great event, just goes to show that if you want something done, don’t moan about it, write in and sometimes things get changed in your favour. I owe a big thanks to Trich, whom raced around and got everyone fed & watered. You’re a life saver babe!

Lincoln also got to catch up with his friend Luke from Nelson, his mother and I have decided that they can only meet at race tracks as they seem to bawl their eyes out if they visit at each others houses, ya can’t win.

Its been all go here. Blaine & the boys have been getting the gold guppy ready for the various races around the country for Viv and Campbell.

And thanks to their generosity, Blaine & I have managed to get to the 240’s in Rotorua and the Teams Champs in Palmy and we had a thoroughly great time at both events and were made to feel part of their family. And a debriefing in the spa is not as rude as you might think.

A big thrill for me was to go out for Grand Parade on Campbell’s car for the Teams Champs, you would think that after all the years that Blaine raced for the Glen Eagles that I would have been before, but nup.

Now we are back home we’ve got time to catch up on some sleep until the next big meeting – Battle of the Stocks. And maybe the Woppitt might be there – if we get all our bits and pieces and I allow Blaine some time off to go into the shed (he’s been a good boy lately)

Lincoln has now got his own steering wheel to play with, as he kept borrowing ones from the race cars in the shed. He’s also got his own hooiser in his play area. Lucky Boy! The Woppitt also has a few little scratches on it (don’t tell Blaine) from where Lincoln trys to help daddy by picking up tools from the ground and giving them not so gently to the stockcar. I also seem to be spending more time in the shed than I would like – but with a little boy who is walking who is also very intent on being in the shed, what can I do?

Blaine is also finding time to put things back into the Woppitt. That is when he’s not helping with general chores and going on family outings.

A big thanks to Uncle John and Aunty June for looking after us in Palmy and also to Alex and Daylene (spelling) who let a couple of cantabrians stay at their house.

Oh and Blaine said he is taking me out on Valentines day, I wonder if its to a movie or dinner and dancing, he said to dress warmly so maybe its outside. Can’t wait!

Sigh, just remembered I think there is a race meeting on at the Glen – guess that’s where I’ll be (sigh).

Yours in racing (sigh)
